Help! My Family Doesn’t Support My Creativity

What do you do when your family or roommates don’t support your creative practice? Do you ignore it or confront them? Do you demand, “You must support my creativity! It’s who I AM!” (P.S. please don’t do that.) Well, I thought I’d share my thoughts on this important subject in a video with you today.

This was another case of me writing out my thoughts but when I came into the office to type them out as a blog during my daughter’s nap time, I thought I’d just record a video instead. Why not, right?

The basic focus of this video is, I believe your creative practice is worthwhile but you might need to tweak a couple of ways that you’re approaching it until your family comes on board.

Help! My Family Doesn’t Support My Creativity…What to Do

I mentioned the book, StrengthsFinder in this video post (am I supposed to call this a vlog?) Anyway, I think it’s an interesting resource to read and go through yourself; my church in Los Angeles was very much into this book and it helped to see what other people’s strong points were, especially in assembling teams and working together.

Have a lovely {and creative} day, friends!

It’s fun to see you in action! Great tips shared here. I’m so thankful that my family supports me in my work and imagine it would be hard not to have that from the people I am most intimate with. These are still great things to consider all around.

Thanks so much, Kim! 🙂 And yes, it makes such a huge difference and is such a blessing to have family who ‘get’ the creative process and are supportive! 🙂 🙂
