I drew the above letter for my sketchbook letter friends a few months ago. It felt apropos for so many of us, myself included. Much of what I create is for this blog and for my business, but there is also a LOT that is just for me. I actually like all of those little projects that aren’t Instagram-worthy (or that I don’t really feel like sharing). In many ways they inform my work in other ways.
Truly, it’s okay to play, to have fun, to use up the art supplies and to laugh. In fact, I think it is more than okay, that those playful moments free you in so many undefined ways. When you find yourself getting too ‘serious’ as an artist or creative person, mix it up. Paint with a toddler, draw with your non-dominant hand, gather items on a walk and draw them.
Truly, have FUN! 🙂

I love this! Thanks for sharing. I feel (felt) the same. I am going to print this to remind me. Thank you!
Thanks so much, Celeste! I hope you have a great day! 🙂
