Using art journaling backgrounds is a great way to add variety to your journal pages. Here’s a process video of how I use them.
I love experimenting in my art journal. And as of late, that experimenting has meant playing with printable art journal pages. I scan them from my own art journals and then print them out as pdfs.
The results are gorgeous. These textured and colorful pieces of paper add dimension to my journals, and I love them so much!
I also love how easy they are to use. If you enjoy art journaling, you’re probably used to layering mixed media pieces to create the desired effect you want.
You can still do that with these papers, but even better, since they’re already “painted”, you can use them to define spaces (such as the background) or as elements of their own. (They look great with quotes written on them!)
Here’s a process video I created where I use printable art journaling backgrounds to create a bright, sunshine-filled background. I also couldn’t resist adding papers to add movement to her bright hair!
